Rescuing 200 Cassette Tapes from Flood Water
Several years ago, during a basement cleanup, we discovered a few boxes that had been partially submerged in flood water from a broken faucet. Inside were over two hundred cassette tapes recorded during my grandfather Albert Allen's ministry at Paradise Valley Christian Church in Casper, Wyoming.
Many of the tape shells were dirty, but the magnetic tape itself was intact. We began the painstaking process of transferring these audio treasures into digital files, cleaned up as best as possible.
