00:00.000 --> 00:13.400
Hello, I'm Bradley, and welcome to Sundance Formation.

00:13.400 --> 00:17.560
This podcast is a collection of sermons preached at Paradise Valley Christian Church over

00:17.560 --> 00:23.400
the last few decades, specifically preached by my grandfather Albert Allen.

00:23.400 --> 00:27.720
Al was a geologist in Casper, Wyoming and a minister at Paradise Valley Christian Church

00:27.720 --> 00:29.840
for nearly 50 years.

00:29.840 --> 00:32.400
He has since retired from preaching.

00:32.400 --> 00:35.840
These sermons were originally recorded to cassette tapes.

00:35.840 --> 00:40.480
I began this project when his basement flooded, and I found boxes of waterlogged tapes among

00:40.480 --> 00:42.280
his belongings.

00:42.280 --> 00:46.680
I select each episode by randomly pulling a tape to restore from the box, so they will

00:46.680 --> 00:50.080
be a scattershot of topics and years.

00:50.080 --> 01:01.080
I do my best to clean up the audio where possible.

01:01.080 --> 01:05.120
You're listening to Episode 2, Anger.

01:05.120 --> 01:24.200
This episode was recorded in April 1996.

01:24.200 --> 01:28.480
And you notice the beautiful things that Ray talked about, the fragrance of beauty by

01:28.480 --> 01:29.480
Love Lockman Weaves.

01:29.480 --> 01:34.560
We're just one of our outstanding speakers and many people said this is really a lady

01:34.560 --> 01:39.880
worth hearing, and her subject tonight will be the Anchor of Hope, which I think would

01:39.880 --> 01:44.800
be wonderful for every Christian family, whether your family or not.

01:44.800 --> 01:49.720
Hope is an anchor, and it is a regional meeting.

01:49.720 --> 01:54.600
There'll be several churches here tonight, so please come back six o'clock, and I pray

01:54.600 --> 01:56.920
that you enjoy that immensely.

01:56.920 --> 02:00.960
I would like to talk about something that's always bugged me a little bit.

02:00.960 --> 02:04.800
Once in a while, I guess we all should preach on the thing.

02:04.800 --> 02:08.320
We like to preach on our strengths, but we should also preach on our weaknesses from

02:08.320 --> 02:12.640
time to time, because that at least applies to one person that's here, and that's that

02:12.640 --> 02:14.320
word which is anger.

02:14.320 --> 02:20.560
I wasn't raised a Christian, and I'll tell you what, I knew a lot of anger in our life.

02:20.560 --> 02:24.560
Wonderful family I had, but anger is out there in the world.

02:24.560 --> 02:27.120
Anger as far as the Bible is concerned is the word orge.

02:27.120 --> 02:34.800
We get the word orge from it, passion, uncontrolled emotion.

02:34.800 --> 02:41.360
We know that there's a biblical application of passion, and also one not biblical, and

02:41.360 --> 02:45.120
one is justifiable, and the other is non-justifiable.

02:45.120 --> 02:50.360
I think I'll quote something that is really worth remembering about this single problem

02:50.360 --> 02:56.320
that I think becomes a problem to many of us, and that's in Ephesians 4-26, be ye angry

02:56.320 --> 03:01.360
and sin not, let not the sun go down on your wrath.

03:01.360 --> 03:04.640
Remember that Roger said that's what his grandma told him when he got married.

03:04.640 --> 03:09.920
That's the one thing he ought to hold in his marriage life, was just don't go to bed hating

03:09.920 --> 03:15.000
each other, fussing with each other, and arguing with each other, and I believe it was good

03:15.000 --> 03:20.760
advice, be ye angry and sin not, for anger builds up, and every day, every day as it

03:20.840 --> 03:26.720
builds up, it becomes more of a problem, and it is an orge, an orge within us that brings

03:26.720 --> 03:33.720
on a frenzy, and I find that in marriage problems there are such tremendous angers which are

03:33.720 --> 03:39.640
expressed, and as long as there are anguished relationships between us, they'll never be

03:39.640 --> 03:42.200
love, and they'll never be peace.

03:42.200 --> 03:48.480
And I suppose that one of marriage's big problems is when two people become angry with one another,

03:48.480 --> 03:53.400
and the emotion takes over the intellect and the will and the scriptures and the commandments

03:53.400 --> 03:55.280
that need to be made.

03:55.280 --> 04:02.240
You see that I have a rather homely external physiognomy, I've had my nose crushed a number

04:02.240 --> 04:07.160
of times, I understand what anger does to you, you can get your lips rearranged by being

04:07.160 --> 04:12.240
angry with the wrong person, and if not you're still going to pay a terrible price, whether

04:12.240 --> 04:17.720
you get hurt or not on the outside, you still will be hurt on the inside.

04:17.760 --> 04:22.160
I read a scripture and it relates to Jesus from Psalms 2 verse 11, you know we began

04:22.160 --> 04:27.800
talking about Jesus very early in the Old Testament, it says, kiss the son, s-o-n, kiss

04:27.800 --> 04:36.800
the son lest he be angry, and you perish from the way when his wrath is handled but little.

04:36.800 --> 04:40.680
Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

04:40.680 --> 04:46.360
Now what he's really saying there, kiss the son lest he be, God expects attention, the

04:46.360 --> 04:52.400
son expects the kiss, a holy kiss of course, God expects to be love, God wants to be love

04:52.400 --> 04:57.120
and that makes him angry, and I tell you in a marriage relationship if that love is not

04:57.120 --> 05:02.240
exchanged there will be anger, and where there is anger there is no peace, it will never

05:02.240 --> 05:03.240
come.

05:03.240 --> 05:10.360
And he says, kiss the son lest you perish from the being in the way when his wrath is there,

05:10.360 --> 05:15.120
but just a little bit, blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

05:15.120 --> 05:19.360
Don't trust in your emotion, don't trust in your anger, don't trust in your lack of

05:19.360 --> 05:27.280
intercession, but really trust in him, and that then will save you from the sacrifice

05:27.280 --> 05:30.160
of your terrible emotions which well up within us.

05:30.160 --> 05:35.360
He doesn't want a Judas kiss, we've talked about that, he wants a kiss of surrender.

05:35.360 --> 05:39.880
Now in Jonah 4 verse 9, I remember and of course the very reason that this little church

05:39.880 --> 05:44.920
is alive is its mission, it's not popular, but who really cares?

05:44.920 --> 05:49.160
We don't care whether the world likes it or not, or even if all of us like it, that's

05:49.160 --> 05:53.960
still the thrust of the church is to read out to the lost, if you really love something

05:53.960 --> 05:57.640
you'll reach out to them to save them, and I think that's what the church should do.

05:57.640 --> 06:03.160
And remember when he said to Jonah, go on to that great city, that city called Nineveh,

06:03.160 --> 06:08.240
and preach unto it that which I have bid thee to preach, and he went about did it.

06:08.240 --> 06:14.360
And you know, he saved them from their sins, he convinced thousands of people that they

06:14.360 --> 06:20.000
needed to repent and come back to the Lord God Almighty, and they were saved, that was

06:20.000 --> 06:21.000
their salvation.

06:21.000 --> 06:25.000
But can you, no matter what this, I kind of believe he must have been a man my age by

06:25.000 --> 06:30.720
then Jonah, I don't really know, but you know kind of a cantankerous old grumpy guy, you

06:30.720 --> 06:33.080
know, and guess what?

06:33.080 --> 06:39.600
He wasn't satisfied that over 120,000 babies had been saved, you know, he said, well they

06:39.600 --> 06:42.320
don't know their left hand from the right hand, that sounds like teeny-boppers, but

06:42.320 --> 06:47.200
I think it's more properly addressed to kids, little kids, little babies for that matter,

06:47.200 --> 06:48.200
see.

06:48.200 --> 06:55.000
And that old man, set out there to see God's condemnation and wrath come down on this tremendous

06:55.000 --> 06:59.080
city, said it would take a month to walk around the outside of the perimeter of that great

06:59.080 --> 07:00.200
city.

07:00.200 --> 07:07.640
And I'm convinced that just sheer cantankerousness and anger on the inside made this man do some

07:07.640 --> 07:09.480
things that he ought not to have done.

07:09.480 --> 07:15.920
He waited for God's lightning and thunder and God's great vindication on those people

07:15.920 --> 07:19.280
who had already turned from their wicked ways.

07:19.280 --> 07:25.080
You thought, I'd have been happy if I'd have preached to sermon where 120,000 mamas and

07:25.080 --> 07:29.560
daddies had been converted to the commandment and to the will of God.

07:29.560 --> 07:32.880
That doesn't seem to satisfy even some people, does it?

07:32.880 --> 07:34.600
And listen to what he said.

07:34.600 --> 07:39.160
God brings him a gourd, a great, he ought to have brought him a gourd, he ought to hit

07:39.160 --> 07:41.800
him in the gourd with a gourd.

07:41.800 --> 07:48.160
He brought him a great green tree filled with fruit and it shadowed him in the hot sun

07:48.160 --> 07:52.600
and it protected him from the drying and desiccation of the wind.

07:52.600 --> 07:56.360
And he sat there in his grumpy attitude and listened to this.

07:56.360 --> 08:01.240
God said to Jonah, do us thou well to be angry for just a gourd?

08:01.240 --> 08:02.440
The gourd's destroyed.

08:02.440 --> 08:03.440
The gourd dies.

08:03.440 --> 08:08.400
He takes away his little comforts while he's watching people get ready to die.

08:08.400 --> 08:12.080
And he said, yes, I do well to be angry.

08:12.080 --> 08:13.720
How could you say that to God?

08:13.720 --> 08:15.600
God, what are you chastising me for?

08:15.600 --> 08:17.520
I'm doing the right thing to be angry.

08:17.520 --> 08:19.960
Can't you see, God?

08:19.960 --> 08:21.360
Maybe his face got a little red.

08:21.360 --> 08:22.880
Do you suppose that it did?

08:22.880 --> 08:28.320
That's one sign that you're losing your emotions and that the orgy is working within you.

08:28.320 --> 08:31.240
The orgy or frenzy of emotion is working within you.

08:31.240 --> 08:37.840
I do well to be angry and listen to this guy.

08:37.960 --> 08:39.160
He doesn't care about God.

08:39.160 --> 08:42.000
Apparently he says, even to the death.

08:42.000 --> 08:46.160
And otherwise, if it kills me, I'll still believe that.

08:46.160 --> 08:47.000
Have you ever heard that?

08:47.000 --> 08:49.600
Even if it kills me, well, it may do that.

08:49.600 --> 08:52.440
120,000 babies, they were worth saving.

08:52.440 --> 08:54.440
God has always known when to stop.

08:54.440 --> 08:57.480
Trouble with anger is it's so hard to stop.

08:57.480 --> 09:01.640
And once you pick a fight, friend, it's hard to finish it sometimes, isn't it?

09:01.640 --> 09:07.280
And just the very steps of the process of anger just keeps going on like a juggernaut,

09:07.880 --> 09:11.640
and it doesn't seem like the breaks are readily available.

09:11.640 --> 09:15.080
Jeremiah 312 says, this is an attribute of God.

09:15.080 --> 09:17.160
He knows when to stop with anger.

09:17.160 --> 09:20.200
Return thou back, sliding Israel.

09:20.200 --> 09:21.280
Sound like a backslider.

09:21.280 --> 09:22.800
Do we have any backsliders here today?

09:22.800 --> 09:29.480
Oh, I don't want your hands, but I suppose every person here has backslidden in some aspect of his spiritual life.

09:29.480 --> 09:31.840
Do you really want God to stay angry with you over that?

09:31.840 --> 09:32.800
Oh, I pray not.

09:32.800 --> 09:34.800
I know that you really don't want that.

09:34.800 --> 09:36.480
Return thou back, sliding Israel.

09:36.480 --> 09:41.480
Sayeth the Lord, and I will not cause my anger to fall upon you, for I am merciful.

09:41.480 --> 09:46.000
Sayeth the Lord, and I will not keep anger forever.

09:46.000 --> 09:51.920
My Uncle Percy and Aunt Elder, I'll swear to Elder, I'll swear they were still arguing

09:51.920 --> 09:57.760
after living together for 45 years over the first 26 seconds of their wedding.

09:57.760 --> 10:01.440
They're still at it, still at it, and they won't let it die.

10:01.440 --> 10:05.680
And I think they're going to be angry about small things all the days of their life.

10:05.680 --> 10:07.520
And I'm not even sure they do love each other.

10:07.520 --> 10:09.880
Some, well, those old couple, they still love each other.

10:09.880 --> 10:12.000
I'm not sure about that at all.

10:12.000 --> 10:15.560
Anger has just kind of taken over and become a lifestyle for them.

10:15.560 --> 10:18.000
They're tending to keep anger forever.

10:18.000 --> 10:21.280
Jesus said the same thing too in Matthew 5, verse 22,

10:21.280 --> 10:24.840
whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause.

10:24.840 --> 10:27.760
Now, there is a cause to be angry with your brother.

10:27.760 --> 10:31.960
He says, without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment,

10:31.960 --> 10:37.680
but in whoever shall say to his brother, Ra'cha, which is another way of saying airhead,

10:37.680 --> 10:41.120
empty head, fool is another word.

10:41.120 --> 10:44.680
He'd be careful about calling a brother a fool.

10:44.680 --> 10:45.680
Be very careful.

10:45.680 --> 10:49.400
Well, it goes on to affirm that, see.

10:49.400 --> 10:53.720
He says, for they shall be in danger of the counsel of God,

10:53.720 --> 10:59.760
but whoever shall say thou, fool, shall be in danger of hellfire itself.

10:59.760 --> 11:04.760
How often we've heard those harsh expletives to even someone who's ostensibly in the same

11:04.760 --> 11:08.480
faith we are, essentially in the same church that we are.

11:08.480 --> 11:12.080
It is a sin to be angry against your brother.

11:12.080 --> 11:13.720
You know how I know that?

11:13.720 --> 11:21.560
Let me think of some great family relationships and see if there's any anger between them.

11:21.560 --> 11:23.840
Jew and a rat.

11:23.840 --> 11:24.840
Family, aren't they?

11:24.840 --> 11:26.680
Is there any hatred?

11:26.680 --> 11:28.120
Is there any anger there?

11:28.120 --> 11:29.120
Why, I think so.

11:29.120 --> 11:35.560
Serba, Serbia, Croatia, Grosso, Ventura, Hugo Mana, whatever that area is.

11:35.560 --> 11:39.080
My children are living now 200 miles from it.

11:39.080 --> 11:44.360
Do you really believe they had to go back 758 years to find something to be angry enough

11:44.360 --> 11:47.800
to kill each other, feeling good about it?

11:47.800 --> 11:49.520
That's what angry does, see.

11:49.520 --> 11:56.960
Anger after 758 years comes to the forefront and death, and our own boys may be involved

11:56.960 --> 12:00.800
in their anger so far, far away from our shore.

12:00.800 --> 12:07.080
And when I think of Christian-Christian relationship, how many people were tortured to the death

12:07.080 --> 12:11.080
in the name of Jesus by Christians?

12:11.080 --> 12:19.120
Some say three and a half million, and that's the most concerning, and some say 150 million

12:19.120 --> 12:20.120
people.

12:20.120 --> 12:24.040
And I don't honestly know if one happened, that's all that really matters.

12:24.040 --> 12:27.920
The second thing I'd bring to your occasion is to be slow to anger.

12:27.920 --> 12:30.680
Yes, I believe there is a time to be angry.

12:30.680 --> 12:31.880
I'll mention it in a minute.

12:31.880 --> 12:37.000
Be slow to anger, and that's in Ecclesiastes 7, verse 9.

12:37.000 --> 12:42.080
Be hasty not, be not hasty in the spirit to be angry.

12:42.080 --> 12:45.280
In other words, it's a spiritual thing, this anger, isn't it?

12:45.280 --> 12:47.400
Oh, I know it's physiological.

12:47.400 --> 12:54.000
The heart beats, the capillaries dilate, that's why the face is turned red.

12:54.000 --> 12:59.400
Emotions rise, the pituitary juices spread through the body because power and swiftness

12:59.400 --> 13:04.320
and strength is needed here, see, to justify the anger, because you get angry, someone

13:04.320 --> 13:08.280
gets angry back at it, you'll be defending yourself, if nothing else.

13:08.280 --> 13:12.520
And it has a lot to do with the mind, this business called anger, doesn't it?

13:12.520 --> 13:14.080
Very much to do with the mind.

13:14.080 --> 13:19.120
Titus 1, 7 says, for an elder is not to be soon angry.

13:19.120 --> 13:21.720
Now we have some elders that get red face.

13:21.760 --> 13:25.760
Chuck Tinney is one of my best friends in the work of the Kingdom of God, and I know

13:25.760 --> 13:30.400
that wasn't while his face gets red, but I want you to remember the next time that you

13:30.400 --> 13:36.320
see Chuck Tinney is lost his emotions because he's angry.

13:36.320 --> 13:40.240
He's a man of God, and it shows, and what a blessed thing he has met.

13:40.240 --> 13:43.480
But it isn't easy for him, it isn't easy for anyone else, is it?

13:43.480 --> 13:45.840
Get angry, you respond.

13:45.840 --> 13:47.680
God's attribute is that very thing.

13:47.680 --> 13:53.120
Psalms 103 verse 8 says, the Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenty is

13:53.120 --> 13:54.520
in his mercy.

13:54.520 --> 13:57.000
That's an attribute of God, isn't it?

13:57.000 --> 14:02.040
This anger, this vindication, judgment, see, vengeance is God's.

14:02.040 --> 14:04.280
It's not ours, it's not our business.

14:04.280 --> 14:06.360
And I believe this works on kids today.

14:06.360 --> 14:11.880
We've been talking, it's been a family theme these last few weeks and months, and particularly

14:11.880 --> 14:12.880
this weekend.

14:13.040 --> 14:18.600
How good it is that Christians can live together to mutual advantage.

14:18.600 --> 14:23.040
I really believe it works on kids and in the family, not just on moms and dads, but on

14:23.040 --> 14:24.040
the family.

14:24.040 --> 14:31.640
Fathers, you provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

14:31.640 --> 14:37.560
You know that a lot of people, maybe they don't even hit their kids, would be offended

14:37.560 --> 14:39.920
at the violence of spanking.

14:39.920 --> 14:44.400
But by the same token, could be violent with the mouth and be angry and constantly stirring

14:44.400 --> 14:48.640
up even their own children so that their own kids get discouraged.

14:48.640 --> 14:51.520
They don't ever let that happen.

14:51.520 --> 14:53.400
Always angry at your children.

14:53.400 --> 14:56.440
You'll never have a happy relationship if that's the case.

14:56.440 --> 15:00.640
There'll be a sweet blessing when you laugh together, when you play together, when you

15:00.640 --> 15:01.920
love together.

15:01.920 --> 15:04.720
That's what life is really all about.

15:04.720 --> 15:09.720
And I don't want any of us to ever have to say, my relationship to my children is an

15:09.720 --> 15:10.720
angry one.

15:10.720 --> 15:15.120
And I've heard people say, if I can get this kid out of my house, I'm tired of the

15:15.120 --> 15:16.120
furor.

15:16.120 --> 15:18.320
That ought not to be.

15:18.320 --> 15:19.320
That ought not to be.

15:19.320 --> 15:23.280
And we're here at the church to show them there's a better relationship with your kids

15:23.280 --> 15:24.280
than that.

15:24.280 --> 15:25.280
Very great.

15:25.280 --> 15:27.800
And the last thing is this.

15:27.800 --> 15:28.800
There is a righteous anger.

15:28.800 --> 15:32.000
Now, just be careful here.

15:32.000 --> 15:33.960
There is a righteous anger.

15:33.960 --> 15:38.720
I really believe the church hasn't exercised very much of it.

15:38.720 --> 15:44.560
I think recent decisions politically are appalling when it comes what you can do to

15:44.560 --> 15:52.760
a child in its trimester in destroying it physically as it emerges from its mother.

15:52.760 --> 15:53.760
And that angers me.

15:53.760 --> 15:58.840
And my face gets red, and I don't know how long to be quiet about this and how long

15:58.840 --> 16:05.400
should the church remain angelically pristine, untouched by the affairs of that kind of

16:05.400 --> 16:12.520
lecherous murder by swine-ish people who have no goodness in their heart.

16:12.520 --> 16:19.280
I tell you one of the things which I see that the world needs to see, I saw last Wednesday.

16:19.280 --> 16:21.840
I may share this with you.

16:21.840 --> 16:27.000
There in that beautiful spring afternoon, we said goodbye to a little baby that didn't

16:27.000 --> 16:29.120
quite come to full term.

16:29.120 --> 16:31.200
This is so personal, but it's so touched me.

16:31.200 --> 16:38.120
I want to share that if the world could have seen that exquisite, loving little Rosewood

16:38.120 --> 16:45.320
casket carved by a daddy who was crushed, instigated by a mama who was crushed with

16:45.320 --> 16:48.520
the loss of their little one.

16:48.520 --> 16:54.920
And if we could just show the world this is how much a baby should be loved.

16:54.920 --> 17:00.600
This is how much the tiny child should be cared for and embellished with.

17:00.600 --> 17:06.680
And it was such an inspiring thing to me to see the joy of love and the tears and sorrow,

17:06.680 --> 17:15.640
yes, but also how wonderful God's people are to their children and to the we ones.

17:15.640 --> 17:20.080
Let's show the world that if we have to be angry, let's show them that, that this is

17:20.080 --> 17:26.680
the way to treat our little guys coming to see us and to be visited from heaven.

17:26.680 --> 17:32.760
Mark three, five, Jesus manifested this in his anger.

17:32.760 --> 17:40.560
And when he had looked around about on them with anger, being grieve for the hardness

17:40.560 --> 17:47.040
in their hearts, being grieve for the heart, what it was, he healed somebody on a religious

17:47.040 --> 17:48.040
day.

17:48.040 --> 17:53.080
A man with a crooked arm, a crooked arm means you starved or you had to beg or you didn't

17:53.080 --> 17:54.080
lead a good life.

17:54.080 --> 17:56.120
You couldn't have a family.

17:56.120 --> 18:00.240
And Jesus healed a withered arm and they got upset.

18:00.240 --> 18:01.940
They got torn apart.

18:01.940 --> 18:07.840
They began to tear at him in his philosophy, you've done something called work on a religious

18:07.840 --> 18:08.840
holiday.

18:08.840 --> 18:15.000
I prayed to God that God could restore all the broken hearts and the crippled arms and

18:15.000 --> 18:18.000
the hurt emptiness that's within us.

18:18.000 --> 18:20.360
But there's always someone with such a blue nose.

18:20.360 --> 18:23.240
They have to say, oh, we're not in the business for that.

18:23.240 --> 18:25.480
We're exactly in the business for healing.

18:25.480 --> 18:26.480
Are we not?

18:26.480 --> 18:28.360
And let's not be angry about that.

18:28.360 --> 18:33.440
Now in verse four of Mark three, he had said these words, is it lawful to do good on the

18:33.440 --> 18:34.440
Sabbath day?

18:34.440 --> 18:36.000
Now he asks us some questions.

18:36.000 --> 18:38.840
Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath day?

18:38.840 --> 18:41.000
Well the answer would have to be yes, would it?

18:41.000 --> 18:42.000
Or to do evil?

18:42.000 --> 18:43.480
Well the answer would have to be no.

18:43.480 --> 18:48.840
Now what did these great malady wonders who had to say in criticizing Jesus for healing

18:48.840 --> 18:53.920
a crippled man, here's what they said, but they held their peace.

18:53.920 --> 18:55.920
And I wrote this down so I'd say it right.

18:55.920 --> 19:02.240
They were silent over the truth and the truth was a crippled man's arm was healed and he

19:02.240 --> 19:04.880
was restored to life.

19:04.880 --> 19:09.340
And they loud mouthed against the truth.

19:09.340 --> 19:13.460
They loud mouthed against the wrong thing.

19:13.460 --> 19:18.040
They spoke up on behalf of the thing which was stupid and didn't make any sense and which

19:18.040 --> 19:21.040
actually made Jesus angry.

19:21.040 --> 19:23.940
And what a sermon that would make, wouldn't it?

19:23.940 --> 19:29.140
Jesus said this in John two, fourteen, fifteen, and when he had made a scourge of small cords

19:29.140 --> 19:35.720
he drove them all out of the temple and the sheep and oxen and poured out on the money

19:35.720 --> 19:40.660
changers and over through their tables.

19:40.660 --> 19:43.100
And someone says, oh Jesus was a violent man.

19:43.100 --> 19:48.740
And it says the small cords, I actually wove a little whip out of small cords.

19:48.740 --> 19:53.100
I took some small strings and put them together and it was such a squirrely thing.

19:53.100 --> 19:56.700
I looked at myself doing it in the mirror and it was that thing.

19:56.700 --> 20:01.140
It says Jesus was violent with strings.

20:01.140 --> 20:07.980
Jesus didn't kill anybody or mutilate anybody or hurt anybody at all.

20:07.980 --> 20:13.380
He was almost an effeminate thing just and the coward ran.

20:13.380 --> 20:17.660
Cowards run a lot and spend their life doing it.

20:17.660 --> 20:19.780
I'd like to close with this thought.

20:19.780 --> 20:21.660
You know what?

20:21.660 --> 20:23.860
Take great care.

20:23.860 --> 20:30.860
Make sure it's a very noble and great cause if you get angry for a cause.

20:30.860 --> 20:35.460
But there are some cause worth getting angry about.

20:35.460 --> 20:41.900
I believe with all of my heart that it's alright to be angry when you see unrighteousness

20:41.900 --> 20:47.460
uncorrected and I really believe that the world can be healed by the manifestations

20:47.460 --> 20:53.340
and the teachings which we have through the love of Jesus Christ in his body.

20:53.340 --> 20:56.780
You know, I don't know.

20:56.780 --> 21:03.380
I think of the wounds that we often give each other in anger and listen to this.

21:03.380 --> 21:08.580
It was called the wounded Cheyenne's Prayer and it touches my heart, pierce you then my

21:08.580 --> 21:09.580
heart.

21:09.580 --> 21:11.700
I bleed just as well as thee.

21:11.700 --> 21:18.740
The blood that coarses there runs deep but just as free and be careful of your aim.

21:18.740 --> 21:22.580
In hatred the victim dies by foe or friend.

21:22.580 --> 21:27.380
The arrow's path is rarely seen and the wound occurs at either end.

21:27.380 --> 21:32.820
And like the bird with a broken wing the good I so often would in offering you my heart

21:32.820 --> 21:38.540
is so often misunderstood and a river carves two mountains so call back the bitter wind

21:38.540 --> 21:44.140
that blows so cold between us and forever let's be friends.

21:44.140 --> 21:48.780
Rattle the dried husks of fall of flowers and golden trees in doubt and share the roars

21:48.780 --> 21:54.820
of warmth and smoky fires before the winter's silvered shroud.

21:54.820 --> 22:00.260
And I think James says it this way, three, nine and ten.

22:00.260 --> 22:08.940
We use our tongues to give thanks to our Lord and our Father and also to curse other people

22:08.940 --> 22:14.860
who are created in the likeness of God.

22:14.860 --> 22:20.340
And I just breathe this little prayer because anger sometimes destroys this.

22:20.340 --> 22:27.940
God spare me if I've wounded a fellow warrior in the faith and teach me to resist your enemies

22:27.940 --> 22:35.780
O God and love your children and love your babies.

22:35.780 --> 22:47.260
If someone here needs a church home, if someone here needs to make a confession of their faith,

22:47.260 --> 22:51.380
if there's someone here that's never been born again of the water and of the Spirit,

22:51.380 --> 22:56.260
the Bible way, I don't care what anybody else does.

22:56.260 --> 22:58.500
I don't care what anybody else does.

22:58.500 --> 23:03.580
We must just determine what it is that we must do and you sitting there must determine

23:03.580 --> 23:06.180
what it is that you must do.

23:06.180 --> 23:10.500
If you need someone to pray with you and to study with you and things like that, we'll

23:10.500 --> 23:12.420
do the best we can.

23:12.420 --> 23:14.700
We have so many sick.

23:14.700 --> 23:21.020
We have so many hurt and so few hands to do the healing and to do the running and to do

23:21.020 --> 23:22.020
the walking.

23:22.020 --> 23:29.100
Particularly if you need a home, a place to put your little family and push against the

23:29.100 --> 23:32.700
onslaught of what's coming in the world.

23:32.700 --> 23:38.220
If you want a buddy, if you want a friend, if God's kingdom cannot provide that, we're

23:38.220 --> 23:41.420
not being the kingdom of God.

23:41.420 --> 23:43.700
If you need a church home, you come forward.

23:43.700 --> 23:48.420
I don't care if you're from Africa, I don't care if you're from Asia, I don't care if

23:48.420 --> 23:53.340
you're from Honey Suckle or wherever it is you might be, you do need a home and you

23:53.340 --> 23:57.700
do need to work with the people of God and to be protected and to be blessed by those

23:57.700 --> 23:58.700
people.

23:58.700 --> 24:01.700
Let's stand as we sing our hymn of invitation, what number it is.

24:18.420 --> 24:25.420
Let's sing our hymn of invitation, what number it is you might be, what number it is you might

24:48.420 --> 24:55.420
be, what number it is you might be.
